HA1 Task 2 Uses

Web Banners/Attractors
Web Banners / Attractors are advertisement. These advertisements are usually displayed somewhere non-related, or severly related to boost their popularity by standing out. They are usually displayed somewhere visible and can lead an audience to somewhere else. Such as the adverts on Elle Magazine UK Website. http://www.elleuk.com

Stings
Stings are short, snappy little videos done in a creative way, usually advertising something such as a tv show, music awards show or even a channel. E4 are quite common for there use of Stings and also run a competitions for E4 Stings. They are very commercial and entertaining and short to keep the audience remembering the channel they are watching.

Titles and Credit Sequences
Titles and Credit Sequences are continuous sequences that give credit to certain objects or people and or introduce certain things such as the opening sequences of a film or Tv show. They are usually kept relatively short to keep the audience's attention. I chose the F.R.I.E.N.D.S opening sequence because it is popular and catchy.

Closing Credits are common as well to give credit to people involved in a project, i have also chosen a F.R.I.E.N.D.S closing sequence. Closing Credits usually have the same theme song as the opening credits but usually without lyrics.

Idents
Idents is short for identification. This can appear in media on TV channels or Radio stations. These are identifications of the certain media done in a catchy way such as a jingle for a radio station to remind the listener what station they are listening to. They are similar to Stings but tend to be longer and more formal.

  Animated Captions
Animated Captions are captions that are animated / edited (on screen) such a titles at the end of a film or the crediting of a certain producer. They can also move and change colour. This is usually a layer ontop of an already moving image. I chose Scott Pilgrim VS. The World because of the use of editing in a pop art way.

Interactive Menus
Interactive menus are similar pages to a website that allow a user to navigate around such as an app on a phone or a DVD menu. I chose the Breakfast Club Movie Menu because its a great film and a good menu.
